Respect In Sport/The Shift Forward Certification

Parents and coaches/team officials are required to complete the Respect in Sport program.

Certification for this program is valid for up to four seasons, expiring on May 1.

The Respect in Sport Certification has been updated to a new program called “The Shift Forward”. It will eventually replace the Respect in Sport Program.

Please check your Spordle Account to confirm that your certificate has not expired.

If expired or new to hockey: please complete the new “The Shift Forward” program.

  • Parents - One parent or guardian for each player must complete the Hockey Canada Shift Forward - Parent Program. Proof of completion must appear on the player’s Hockey Canada Registry Profile.
  • Team Officials - All registered team officials must complete the Shift Forward - Coach Program. Proof of completion must appear on the Team Official’s HCR registration.

If your certificate is still valid, you are good to go for this season! Certificates from the old program will continue to be recognized until they expire.

Here are the links to the registration pages. Every player must have a valid Respect in Sport / Shift Forward certificate before they can play.
